The ACE COMBAT 8 Deluxe Edition includes the complete base game, a Premium Ace Pass Plus voucher, and a four-item customizable cosmetic set. Its three-day early-access period has already ended, so that benefit has no value to a new buyer after launch. The remaining upgrade is mainly aimed at players who expect to spend meaningful time in ACE COMBAT ONLINE.
Campaign-focused players receive the full campaign and online mode with the Standard Edition. Deluxe does not add campaign missions, a second campaign, or a permanently exclusive version of the base game. Its most consequential extra is the voucher: it can activate one season of Premium Ace Pass Plus, including the premium reward track and an immediate 30-level seasonal skip.

At the US Steam list prices checked on October 9, 2026, Standard is $69.99 and Deluxe is $89.99, making the upgrade $20 before discounts. Regional pricing and sales can change that difference, so compare the live prices on your platform rather than treating the original gap as permanent.
The practical question is whether the voucher and cosmetic set are worth the live upgrade cost to you. If you only want the campaign, Deluxe provides little additional campaign value. If you plan to follow ACE COMBAT ONLINE seasons, the voucher can replace a separate Premium Ace Pass Plus purchase for one season and reduce the amount of pass progression required in that season.
What the Deluxe Edition includes now
The current Deluxe package has three meaningful components:
- ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE. This is the same base game supplied by the Standard Edition, not an expanded campaign.
- A Premium Ace Pass Plus voucher. It redeems one season of premium pass content and includes an immediate 30-level skip.
- The Customizable Cosmetic Set. This contains two aircraft skins, a Tasha costume set, and Scarlet missile smoke, with different mode restrictions for those items.
Some official edition displays still show “3 Days Early Access” because it was part of the launch offer. That window began before the worldwide release and cannot be recovered by purchasing Deluxe afterward. Official post-launch guidance explicitly says Deluxe remains purchasable but no longer includes the early-access bonus that accompanied digital preorders.
Do not interpret the word “Deluxe” as a promise of every future aircraft or DLC release. The official edition description confirms one seasonal voucher and the named cosmetic set. It does not establish an all-season pass, a permanent entitlement to every later Premium Ace Pass, or access to unspecified future DLC.
How the Premium Ace Pass Plus voucher works
The voucher is more flexible than a pass locked to a single named season. You can redeem it for one season of Premium Ace Pass content and rewards, and it is not tied specifically to Season 1. If a future season is more appealing, you can retain the voucher and use it then instead.
Premium Ace Pass Plus combines two benefits:
- Access to that season’s Premium Ace Pass rewards in addition to the free ACE PASS track.
- An instant skip of 30 seasonal levels, unlocking the corresponding progress and rewards without earning those levels normally.
This is seasonal online progression, not a campaign level boost. ACE COMBAT ONLINE has progression and save data separate from the campaign, so the voucher should be valued according to how much you expect to play the online mode. A player who ignores seasonal progression will not receive the same practical benefit as someone actively working through ACE PASS rewards.
Season choice matters. In Season 1, redeeming the voucher grants immediate access to the ADFX-02 Morgan–PIXY for online play. The aircraft can also be used in Campaign Mode, but only after all campaign missions have been completed. Saving the voucher for a later season means choosing that later season’s premium content instead of using the voucher for the Season 1 offer.
The official plan is for playable aircraft from a Premium Ace Pass to become separately purchasable after the corresponding season concludes. That makes Deluxe a route to one season’s pass benefits and early access to its reward structure, not necessarily the only eventual route to every seasonal aircraft. “Planned” is not the same as a guaranteed date or price, however, so do not base a purchase on an assumed future sale schedule.
Before redeeming, inspect the active season and its displayed rewards. Redemption commits the one-season voucher, while waiting preserves your ability to choose a later season. If you specifically want Morgan–PIXY through the Season 1 pass, use the voucher while that season is the active choice. If you do not care about that aircraft, comparing later rewards may be more valuable than redeeming automatically.

The Customizable Cosmetic Set contains four named items:
- F-4E Mobius Squadron 25th Anniversary Skin
- F/A-18C Team Zvezda Skin
- Tasha Costume Set
- Scarlet Missile Smoke
The Tasha Costume Set and Scarlet Missile Smoke are for ACE COMBAT ONLINE. They should not be valued as campaign additions. The two aircraft skins are available in Online Mode and can also be used in Campaign Mode after completing all campaign missions.
These restrictions make the set more attractive to online players and post-campaign completionists than to someone beginning a campaign-only playthrough. The skins do not provide an immediate early-campaign customization benefit, and the costume and missile smoke remain online-focused cosmetics rather than gameplay systems.
Official wording also warns that content may vary at redemption. Check the entitlement description shown on your platform and account before redeeming or buying solely for one cosmetic. The list above is the named set in the official edition description; it should not be expanded with unconfirmed colors, variants, or additional items.
What is not a current Deluxe advantage

The three-day early-access window is over. It allowed eligible digital Deluxe buyers to begin before the general launch, but it does not provide three days of special access after release. A current comparison should assign it zero purchasing value.
The F-14A and ACE COMBAT ZERO: THE BELKAN WAR were advertised as preorder bonuses across editions. They were not exclusive reasons to choose Deluxe over Standard. Because the game has launched, do not assume a newly purchased Deluxe copy includes either preorder entitlement unless your current storefront or retailer explicitly lists it for the exact offer you are buying.
Deluxe also does not turn the campaign into cooperative multiplayer. ACE COMBAT ONLINE is a separate multiplayer experience with separate progression. Buying Deluxe supplies online-season benefits, but it does not change the campaign into a four-player mode or transfer campaign aircraft and progression into the online economy.
Finally, the voucher is not a permanent Premium Ace Pass subscription. It covers one season. After using it, later premium seasons would require their own entitlement unless another confirmed offer supplies one. The free ACE PASS remains available to players generally, while the voucher adds the premium track and Plus-level skip for the selected season.
Who should buy each edition
Choose Standard for a campaign-first purchase
Standard is the clearer fit if your main goal is to play the story campaign, unlock aircraft through campaign progression, replay missions, or occasionally sample the online mode without committing to its seasonal reward track. It contains the full base game and does not remove ACE COMBAT ONLINE.
It is also the safer choice when none of the four cosmetics matters to you. You can judge later separately sold content on its own merits instead of paying upfront for a pass voucher you may never redeem. This is purchasing advice, not a claim that Standard produces better gameplay outcomes; both editions provide the same underlying base game.
Choose Deluxe for sustained online play
Deluxe makes more sense if you expect to play ACE COMBAT ONLINE regularly and would otherwise buy Premium Ace Pass Plus for a season. The included 30-level skip reduces the seasonal progression you must earn normally, while the flexible voucher lets you select Season 1 or retain it for a future season.
It also fits players who specifically want the online-only Tasha costume and Scarlet missile smoke, plus the two post-campaign aircraft skins. If Morgan–PIXY is the deciding reward, remember the mode condition: Season 1 voucher redemption provides immediate online access, but campaign use remains locked until all campaign missions are complete.
Do not choose Deluxe today for early access, and do not pay the upgrade solely because you think the old preorder bonuses required Deluxe. Neither is a valid current edition advantage.
A purchase checklist before you pay
Use this short check to keep the decision tied to benefits you can actually use:
- Compare the live edition prices. Discounts may change the original $20 US Steam difference.
- Confirm the exact platform offer. Read the current entitlement list rather than relying on launch-era promotional artwork.
- Decide whether you will play ACE COMBAT ONLINE. The voucher, level skip, costume, and missile smoke derive most of their value from online play.
- Choose your intended voucher season. Redeem for Season 1 if its premium content is your priority; otherwise preserve the voucher while evaluating later seasons.
- Account for campaign restrictions. The two included aircraft skins and campaign use of the Season 1 Morgan–PIXY require completion of all campaign missions.
- Exclude expired value. Assign no current value to the former early-access window.
- Verify any advertised preorder content separately. Do not treat the F-14A or ACE COMBAT ZERO as automatic Deluxe inclusions after launch.
Choose Deluxe for the benefits you will use
For most campaign-only players, the Standard Edition delivers the relevant game content at the lower price.
